Action for Healthy Communities (AHC)’s Employment Support Program empowers newcomers and job seekers across Alberta to achieve meaningful and sustainable employment. Through personalized guidance, skills development, and employer engagement, we help individuals strengthen their employability and confidently navigate the labour market. By collaborating with employers, service providers, and community partners, AHC fosters inclusive workplaces and supports a thriving, equitable economy for all.

Customized Individual Support

Our employment team provides one-on-one guidance tailored to each participant’s goals, experience, and aspirations. This personalized approach helps individuals navigate Alberta’s job market with confidence and purpose.

Job Market Insights

Participants gain access to current information on Alberta’s labour market, including employer needs, industry trends, and hiring practices. AHC equips job seekers with practical tools and strategies for effective job searches and long-term workforce integration.

Career Development Assistance

We support participants in understanding how their international education and experience align with Canadian standards through credential assessments and career planning. Together, we explore employment pathways that reflect each person’s strengths and ambitions.

Job Readiness Preparation

AHC offers workshops, training, and safety certification assessments to strengthen employability skills. These sessions prepare participants for the realities of today’s workplaces and help them meet industry requirements.

Networking Opportunities

Through work exposure initiatives and employer engagement events, participants build professional networks and connect directly with potential employers. These include: Employer Spotlights, Information Sessions, and Career Fairs.

Through these comprehensive supports, AHC empowers individuals to build fulfilling careers and contribute to Alberta’s inclusive, resilient economy.

The program is at no cost to clients. While most services are provided at no cost, some fees may be covered by clients such as safety tickets, PPEs, etc.

Land Acknowledgment
