At Action for Healthy Communities (AHC), volunteering is more than service — it’s a way to contribute to the wellbeing and prosperity of our shared community. The Volunteer Development Program offers diverse, meaningful opportunities for individuals to engage with AHC’s mission, develop valuable skills, and connect with others who are passionate about creating positive change.
Whether you are supporting front-line activities, sharing your professional expertise as a Board Member, or gaining hands-on experience through a practicum placement, AHC welcomes volunteers from all walks of life. Every contribution — big or small — plays an essential role in building stronger, more inclusive communities.
Volunteering with AHC is also a journey of personal growth and empowerment. Volunteers gain practical experience, expand their networks, and learn within a supportive, inclusive environment guided by AHC’s values of collaboration, participation, and inclusion. Each volunteer is a vital member of the AHC family — helping to build a healthier, more connected Alberta while preparing for future opportunities in life and work.
